First up:
A view of fantastic artist Zi Xu’s lovely guest cover for December’s FALLING IN LOVE ON THE PATH TO HELL.
Zi is such a talented artist, I first saw her work on the JOHN WICK 4 steelbook when I was visiting 8711 Productions, and took note of her name — turns out we both went to Ridgewood High School…in different decades. You can see more of her art on her website.
Grateful again to have our murderer’s row of guest artists continue in December. October is going to be very busy for me. This week - the fourth print of the first issue and the reprints of one and two arrive on October 2nd. Garry Brown and I are barnstorming Los Angeles this coming Wednesday. We’ll see you at Collector’s Paradise in NoHo, Golden Apple in Hollywood and Revenge Of on the East Side.
Later that evening Garry and I are signing the last of the first prints exclusive variants that Mike Mayhew has. Check his website for more details.
Meanwhile back in Boston…Dead Eyes is back and better than ever, I think our second issue of this current volume is as good as anything John, Mike, Joe and I have cooked on.
The search for the missing paintings will make you laugh as you wince. It will be hard to look away. The comic is sad and funny — our sweet and sour.
What else is happening? Well, on the West Coast the Marvel Universe is gaining its biggest asshole since the 90s. Check out the teaser courtesy of the talented Todd Nuack.
West Coast Avengers will be a fun book, and as always I like to tone shift quick so of course there’s a horror story in the undercurrents.
Tis the season.
Next month the softcover of my photo book arrives in shops from Image Comics. Timing/Luck should be in comic shops on November 6, 2024. The softcover features a wonderful new cover design courtesy of Elliott Gray. It’s just 19.99 and I hope anybody that didn’t get their hands on the limited edition makes a little room on their shelves for it.
One other bit of work related news: the Falling In Love team assembled the files for our first trade and have sent it to print. It will be in hands in January of 2025, assuming the world doesn't end between now and then.
Finally, we want your letters and especially your fan art for the book. The email to hit us at is in the back of the comic, and don’t forget to indicate “okay to print”.
Thanks, see you when I see you. More soon.
Gerry
PS - Signing times and schedule are on the way for New York Comic Con in a few weeks. And another bit of good news is threatening to drop this week. Stay tuned.
Will Spider-Woman play big role in WCA? Are there exciting plans for her in your run?
