Hello again.
I’ve been absent from your inboxes for a while, as I focus on my health. I’ve got another patch of rough road in front of me, but that’s life. I appreciate very much all the support from my friends, family, and my partners at Marvel and Image. When the chips are down, my friends caught me. Grateful for you all.
First, this Wednesday May 7 at 4p EST I’ll be discussing comics books with the New York Public Library.
It’s free and it’s online only. Please register for the event at this link. My first address was in the Bronx, so this is a homecoming online chat.
Next, I’m looking forward to my first trip to Detroit. Come visit me at Motor City Comic Con. I’ll be tabling at Comic Sketch Art.
I’m not doing many shows this year so I can continue to focus on health, family and my work, but I am flying out of Burbank Airport (joy!) to Washington state in June for Washington State Summer con! Hey, you probably haven’t seen that same photo of me from a hundred years and pounds ago — so here it is one more time. You’re welcome.
THIS ENDS TONIGHT!
Production is wrapping up on this miniseries which stars Jae Lee & June Chung. Jae’s inks are dry on this grindhouse revenge triptych set in one night in Las Vegas. June’s almost done coloring and I’ll be catching my mistakes in my first letters draft this week. IGN has the announcement right over here. The first issue drops on July 16, 2025. I co-plotted the series with the Seven Sons team, including Robert Windom and Kelvin Mao. The full team is working on a release party for July - stand by for details. Until then, gaze upon Jae & June’s main cover for our first issue.
Hey, you know what’s out the same day as our first issue? That’s right, it’s…
GODZILLA DESTROYS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE!
What a fun series this is. Javier Garrón guest stars with Godzilla as the reason this’ll be your favorite summer action event for 2025. It really has it all. The folks in the bullpens at Marvel and Toho have been truly wonderful. It’s really a bucket list gig for me, and I don’t think Javier has ever been better. Add this to your pull lists now, or wait for reprints.
GODZILLA DESTROYS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE & THIS ENDS TONIGHT both drop the Wednesday before San Diego Comic Con, and I’ll be there promoting both and FALLING IN LOVE ON THE PATH TO HELL. I’m still locking down my schedule, and will publish it as soon as I have it.
WEST COAST AVENGERS
This comic has been a thrill to be a part of this one. Issue 7 hits this Wednesday and is another banger from star artist Danny Kim. The Ultron story we’re telling is very different, and I’m really proud of this one. Plus, it’s always fun to write Wonder Man.
MINOR THREATS!
This summer I’m joining the expanding Minor Threats universe commenced by Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum and Scott Hepburn. I’m joined by Mark Torres as we introduce a
”cleaner” to Twilight City. Yet another privilege for me to collaborate on this new noir take on their super hero canvas.
Welcome To Twilight # 4 is the debut of THE CLEANER and its on stands June 25th.
Finally, if you’re in Los Angeles, there is a really great new restaurant opening from my pal, Joe Cappella called CANNONBALL in South Pasadena. The “Denas” have been hit hard economically after the Eaton fire, and when you find something you enjoy, you have to support it, and share what you love. I think you’d enjoy what’s on offer at Cannonball. Great food, great cocktails, wonderful staff, and a lovely whisky selection.

Okay, that’s it for today. Back to work!

PS - Updates on Dead Eyes: The Empty Frames and the return of The Dark Room are scheduled for later this week.
Can't wait for This Ends Tonight!!!!! Hope you are doing better every day, sir.
Whoo! Already pre-ordered the Godzilla title. I love that it’s coming on the heels of the 6-part “Godzilla vs. [Marvel character]” one-shots. So much Godzilla fun to be had starting any day now.
