Free Timing/Luck Hardcover For Yearly Subscribers!
Or if you’d prefer comics — keep reading.
This offer is valid for as long as my stock lasts.
Here’s a fun deal that I can offer until the stock is exhausted. The cost of a paid yearly subscription to this substack is 70 bucks. Hold that thought for a moment.
That is roughly the retail of my photo book TIMING/LUCK. The costs to design, produce, print and ship my first book of photography was quite pricey. I could have executed on the book and lowered the price point, but I once I got into designing it, I said yes to every premium design element:
Clothbound
Vellum signature page
Clothbound slipcase
Foil embossed titles
I’ll be popping in at least one signed comic from my comps as well. So — am I giving the book to yearly Substack subscribers?
Or giving the subscription to purchasers of the book?
The answer is: yes.
However you’d like to see it, have fun. The hardcover will not be reprinted in this form again. Each book comes signed.
NEW DOMESTIC SUBSCRIBERS:
INTERNATIONAL SUBSCRIBERS:
The cost of mailing Timing/Luck internationally is holding steady at 80 bucks. Hilariously, to make the offer work under the hood, I had to slug in a discount. Enjoy your 1% discount. But seriously enjoy either over 70 bucks of product on yearly subs, and damn close to it on Founders.
NOTE: If you would rather have the equivalent in floppies, trades and hardcovers instead of Timing/Luck — we can sort that, too. This is a good way to get signed merch, basically all of it limited, and you can help me declutter my office, too. Message me after subscribing.
The book offer is only for yearly domestic subscribers and for international orders at the Die Hard level. Monthly subscribers receive all the posts and goodies, but not the hardcover.
The Road Ahead:
After wrapping off of the X-Men I’m taking some time to focus on my creator owned business. I also have the privilege of adapting some of my own work, and some of it is shockingly far along. So much of a writer’s life is secret. It’s something that just comes with the job. I think in 2024 secrets are going to be revealed.
Or not.
I have been both uncanny and terrible at fortune telling.
Hey, my friend and talented human Torunn Grønbekk started a Substack and we should all subscribe.
She’s an amazingly talented writer and painter. Go sign up — because I’m not the only sending fans free stuff — she’s giving away this painting of the All-Father to one lucky substack subscriber. Click through, and may luck be with you.
More this week. I’ll be telling everyone about reallocating my clock. I have a couple of exciting opportunities to adapt my own work that I can’t quite talk about yet, but I’m getting ready to print an ashcan of a new creator-owned collaboration that I adore, and you’ll hear about it here first.
I don’t take any of your support for granted, I appreciate each and every one of you, and I thanks for allowing me to have my dream job.
This thanksgiving I’m thankful for all of you.
All the best,
GD
PS - if you’re a recently re-upped subscriber not yet received some signed merch, holler at me.
