I’ve been a fan of Jae Lee longer than many of you have been alive. To be invited to collaborate with he and June Chung is a dream come true. Together with their SEVEN SONS collaborators we cooked up THIS ENDS TONIGHT, a tale of three intertwining revenge stories that scar Las Vegas one fateful night.
And this will be the second Adam Hughes cover of 2025 for me, after his brilliant West Coast Avengers issue one guest cover. Adam is brilliant, and we’re grateful he shared his talents with us next month. Speak to your retailer now if you want to secure one of his variants.
Orders are due this coming Monday, and the first of our three issues will be on sale next month. There will be a very special sketch cover available — with original art from Jae shipping to stores on day one. If you’d like something like Jae’s example below, please speak to your retailer about how to own one of these completely original covers.
The last week of June will also see two one shots hit shelves. FROM THE WORLD OF MINOR THREATS: WELCOME TO TWILIGHT # 4 is my first Dark Horse Comic in about two decades.
Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum and Scott Hepburn invited Mark Torres and I to come play in TWILIGHT CITY and we’re leaving a bloody bruise on their shared superhero universe. Meet David O’Halloran whose personal life is as messy as his job: cleaning up the invulnerable, irradiated and otherwise in-disposable, indestructible corpses littering Twilight. Mark Torres did an incredible job with the visual storytelling. This is just the first of what we hope will be many stories featuring this fixer.
The same day Deadpool 350 arrives in stores. I want to thank Cody, and everybody at Marvel for breaking off 10 pages for Matteo Lolli and I to come back and have some fun. Rather than revisit the past, Matteo and I cooked someone new, and fun for Wade. There’s a price on Deadpool’s head, and Kurami Itto is here to collect. The job goes sideways when the figure behind the contract is revealed. The artists that carried me around on Deadpool don’t get enough of the credit for those stories, and I’m glad Matteo got to shine again here.
Finally, get to the Skirball in Los Angeles for the Kirby exhibit. If you’re heading to SDCC this year, it’s worth your time to hit LA before or after the show. The art, the artifacts, it’s all incredible. You’re in the room with the King.
Here’s proof of life from the opening night of the exhibit with one of the nicest and most talented gents in comics - Mr. David Mack. You’ve been warned. Don’t miss the Kirby exhibit. There’s a complete Kirby issue of X-Men on the walls, along with giant pieces of original art you’ll never be able to see again unless your name is Dave Mandel. More soon including my San Diego Comic Con schedule.
