The page of Herman walking by as Shaw is being thrown out of a window by Kate will be one of my all-time favorite moments of the Krakoan age and that last Hellfire Gala will be an experience I'll never forget. Thank you for all of the great X-stories that have made the last few years such a thrilling time to be a fan.
I was at the c2e2 show where Krakoa was announced -- and I wasn't a huge X-man fan before then. I'd read a few books here and there, but it didn't work for me. And I'm a bit young than you, Gerry.
Krakoa changed all of that. The list of talent on that series, the way you all clicked (and the pictures to show it!! This is amazing, and I love it so much), the work you did "reimagine" the x-men. It was mind boggling good.
That's a lead up to say that Marauders was my absolute favorite of the bunch. It was a purposeful, dynamic, heart breaking team. Kate journey has been my favorite part of the Krakoa era -- Polaris is a close second -- and every twist and turn has been a joy.
When Hickman left X-men I was pretty bummed...until I saw you were taking up the mantle. Your comics have always been the been the first ones I read on any week when they came out. I think it's because I was already following you on Twitter before I even knew you wrote comics, before even Nerd Poker—so I've felt like, "This is my guy," since Deadpool #1. Marauders was waaay better than I even imagined it could be. X-Men has been full of big fun, gnarly ideas; high highs and gut-punches. Uncanny Avengers ruled. Planet-Sized X-Men was HUGE. Iron Man has been crazy good. Man, I hope you do more stuff at Marvel someday, because you really elevate these characters. In the meantime, I'll keep getting all of you independent books because they're consistently killer. So long, Krakoa. For Glynnishmore!
This was lovely, Gerry. Thanks for sharing it.
Cheers, David
Surprising that Marauders didn't START with the name. Neat!
Love this post, Gerry.

That really made me laugh too, and Steph just CRUSHED that page. Thanks again - hope you like 700.
