It was an absolute honor to meet you at the Unknown booth. I’m glad I was able to sneak away from work for a few minutes to say hi, and I absolutely meant what I said about Krakoa- this is the run we will be talking about forever! Can’t wait to see what’s to come... and where it all begins anew!
The Age of Krakoa was a great ride -- what the X-books needed and 🤞🏻 that the Brevoort run will get and make use of a handoff, ie themes, etc., from AoB.
As for the writing! A bunch of great writing which, you know, generally isn’t all that common -- a lot of writing tends to defer to the art. Understandably, words and pictures.
Not going to names but on my list of X-writers I especially like, you, Gerry, specifically on X-Men, has been a joy to read.
Well...did all of the creators get to tell all of the Krakoa stories they wanted? Krakoa seemed to have far more possibilities story-wise than the abrupt removal of mutants from earth. The mutant presence on Mars barely started, the X-Men of NYC, the Treehouse in Central Park all seemed to have years of story left. The rise of Orchis seems rushed in order to provide a deus ex machina to change the mutant status quo. Did the reveal of mutant resurrection come too soon? Or did the revelation of Moira MacTaggart's timeline resets accelerate the Fall of X? And why didn't anyone on Krakoa have any babies?
Those are a lot of questions, some I could answer, some I couldn't but we've bene working on these books since...2018. We'll be working on them for the majority of 2024. By any metric - an almost unparalleled run in mainstream comics. re: Babies, well -- those usually burden and break characters. "Make more mutants" had several meanings, you see. Hope you enjoy what is to come -- it's very enjoyable!

Seeing Deadpool there brings me tears of joy ,my boy has come so far and hopefully and finally as an Xman
Throughout all of Fall of X, this is the first time I've really believed the Krakoan era might end.
This was lovely. So great to finally meet you in person!
