My sister left behind an impressive cache of film photography spanning from the late 80s until the early oughts. Claire was in Washington DC from 1994 onward and was the first official photographer of GWU, and a contributor to their school paper, The Hatchet.
One of my first pulls from her collection is my favorite band in concert. I’ve seen them well over a dozen times in several countries, and catching at least one show per tour since OK Computer. Claire saw them a couple of years before me on THE BENDS tour. My modest detective skills have zeroed in on April 9, 1995 as the likely date of the concert from the sticker on Ed O’Briens shoulder. WHFS in DC was a decent alternative station, and Toad The Wet Sprocket may also have been on the bill. There are more negatives with that band, but they have not been prioritized for scanning. Sorry, Toad.
I ask what the internet seems to like to file off every work of art…I ask for the credit to remain on these photos. By sharing her work, we keep her memory alive, so please don’t crop out the attribution. She likely shot the show on a Nikon or Pentax. She was not familiar with the band, I don’t think she wrote “Radio Head” on the negatives. I hope she had her hair blown back that night. Looks like it was a hell of a performance.
My favorites of the color roll that I recently had scanned.
Nice shooting, Claire Bear.

It's also likely if the timing is correct that some of those guitars were stolen a few months later, unfortunately.
Amazing
